Binta Lake Farm
The location The property is situated between Francois Lake (75 miles long) in the north and Ootsa Lake in the south (part of 200 miles long row of lakes running through Tweedsmuir Provincial Park), 120 miles southeast of Smithers (Yellowhead highway), 35 miles southeast of Burns Lake, 35 miles southwest of Fraser Lake (Yellowhead highway) and 130 miles west of the city of Prince George, which is 488 miles from Vancouver. A few maps of the area: Access: Right after you drove through Fraser Lake on Highway 16 (Yellowhead Highway Prince George to Prince Rupert) take a left (south) on Francois Lake Road (paved), after 5 – 6 km another left on Nithi Road and after 1 – 2 km right on Dahlgreen Road (gravel) that leads you around the east part of Francois Lake across a bridge into forest road 500. At km 511 you go right on Holy Cross Binta Forest Service Road (forest road 200). After you drove past several other lakes you see Trout Lake on your left and get after 3 more kilometers – at approximately km 258 – to the Binta Lake Ranch, the only other private property in the neighbourhood. After you passed through the ranch, you turn right at the next forking on Binta North Road where you will see the Binta Lake Farm in a few minutes on your left. The access road to the property is maintained year round as a forest road and cleared of snow. Or: Drive south from Burns Lake over a good all-season road(paved) and a free ferry ride across Francois Lake. Turn left off the ferry and follow later on the road(gravel)-signs to Binta Lake. Turn left on Binta North Road, where you will see the property after a few miles on your right.The trip from Burns Lake to the property is approximately 1¼ hours.
